　 Abstract:
　

      A least square (LS) restoration mask has been derived based on the pseudoinversion of a small overdetermined matrix representing a degraded test image and a regularzing procedure. This paper shows that the LS mask is obtainable by adaptive filtering . Based on the restoration model, an adaline element is formed, with the degraded test pattern as its input. The weighting vector finally converges to the LS operator. Experimental results are given in the paper
