　 Abstract:
　

      In this paper we discuss the two main technology of video communication: video coding technology and video networking technology. Some methods about video transmission over the traditional network are also mentioned. Finally, in order to get the better image quality and read-time character as well we specify an experiment about MPEG video transmission over traditional network.
