Removing Image Scratches Using Morphological Filtering and Non-Uniform Smoothing

     In this paper we present an effective method for removing scratches in an image. A morphological filter is adopted to remove the scratch according to a binary template of the scratch. A weighted non-uniform smoothing operation is then performed so that the processed region can be put back to the  image seamlessly.
