　 Abstract:
　

     A method of real-time images processing using the complex-valued kernel structure element (CVKSE) as frequency filtering for optical 4f system is proposed. The computer simulation and experiments indicated that the results of gray-level image centroid scale-space map (CSSM) operation and the application of optical morphological operation on tracking gray-level images with background noise are satisfactory.
