Photoconductivity of Polyimides Containing Tetraphenylporphyrin Moieties

  Abstract:
     Polyimides (Pls) Containing Tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP)/ diphenyl ether (DPE) units and TPP/ carbazole (Cz) units in main chains were fabricated into photoreceptors (PRs) in which these Pls acted as charge-camier- generating layers (CGLs). Photoinduced discharge (PID) measurements were used to detemine the Photoconductivity of the Pls.The relations between the Photoconductivity and the TPP content in PI chains were studied. The Photoconductive performance of four- layered PRs with CBL of  PMMA and three- layered PRs without CBL were used to investigate the influence of CBL on the Photoconductive properties. Comparisons between the Pls with TPP units in main chains and the TPP-doped Pls were carried out. Phenomena observed were interpreted on the basis of  charge transfer complex mechanism.
