  Abstract:
We measured UV spectra of various polysilanes solutions in situ under varying magnetic fields up to 5 T(tesla) or 12 T, and found that the main polymer chains in some polysilanes including poly(methylphenylsilane)(PMPS) tend to align perpendicular to the direction of the magnetic field.  We then fabricated PMPS films under strong magnetic field and compared their hole drift mobilities with those of the PMPS samples fabricated without magnetic field.  There was a clear difference in drift mobility between the two samples, a difference which will be discussed in the framework of the disorder formalism.
The effect of the magnetic field on the drift mobilities in some molecularly doped system is now under investigation.
