 Study on Electrophotographic Performance of the Binary Bisazo-triazo Composites

  Abstract:
      Double-layered photoreceptors, containing the Bisazo- An-As and Triazo-AS-SW binary composites as charge  generating materials, and DEH AS charge transporting material, are prepared, and their visible absorption spectra and electrophotographic performance are investigated. The experimental results indicake that the photosensitivity of Bisazo- An-As with very weak photosensitivity is increased evidently, when Triazo-AS-SW with excellent photosensitivity is added into. With the addition of Triazo-AS-SW, the photosensitivity of the binary composites gradually approaches to that of Triazo-AS-SW. By UV-Vis spectra research, it is concluded that the photosensitivity relates to the visible absorption spectra. When Triazo-AS-SW is adulterated into Bisazo- An-As, two charges will possibly take place:)Excited Triazo-AS-SW combining with Bisazo- An-As, the exciplex (Triazo-AS-SW+·Bisazo- An-AS-) is produced, and the exciplex decomposes into free electron and hole.) The excited Triazo-AS-SW decomposes into free electron and hole, and the electron is trapped by Bisazo- An-As under the action of the electric field. Bisazo- An-As with the negative charge is excited to produce free electron and hole. Due to the influence of the above charges, the photosensitivity of the binary composites is superior to that value obtained by the simple linear addition of their own photosensitivity values.
